Lamperti at Home: The Musical Herald 1891

Published in The Musical Herald (a music journal in England) a year before the great maestro's death in 1892, it gives the reader a first-hand account of Lamperti's method as well as his demeanor. Autocratic, demanding and even punishing, he was considered one the last undiluted exponents of the Old School.
